ABOUT THE ARTIST: Mary Louise Wilson-Hickman was born in Independence, MO in 1920. She began her art career with the Phillip Morris Advertising Company and eventually went on to open her own agency in Kansas City, MO. Mary Louise became a well known fashion illustrator for Harzfelds, Macys, The Jones Store in Kansas City, Speigels in Chicago, and, Saks Fifth Ave. in New York winning many National and International awards for her work. She was commanded to do portraitures in pencil and watercolor of her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II and Oscar de la Renta.
She eventually opened a childrens clothing store and illustration gallery specializing in infant and toddler portraitures in pencil, oil and acrylics . She also displayed her paintings in Still Life in Weston, MO for 14 years.
She continued doing her art until her death October, 2006 at the age of 86.
We are currently liquidating a portion of art from the Mary Louise Wilson Art Foundation inherited from her estate. Proceeds from these sales will be used to support the museums currently exhibiting her works and educating the public about Mary Louise Wilson and her art!
